Africa's greatest theme park created around an authentic 19th century Gold mine with underground tours, gold pouring, historical exhibits, restaurants, amusement attractions, a Victorian hotel and a casino with 1600 machines and 60 tables.

Visitors can go look at the gold reef that gave birth to Johannesburg or if they would rather stay above ground, could go and watch the gold pouring or visit the very interesting geological exhibit. At Gold Reef City you could watch the traditional dancers perform traditional song and dance, wearing authentic costumes.

Gold Reef City is built on Crown Mines No. 14 Shaft. This mine once kept the world record for the amount of gold recovered as well as the shaft sinking record in 1916. You can see all the attractions- historical exhibits, the mine, all the entertainment facilities, and shops.

 

One can use the train or horse drawn carriage to get around to all the attractions. At the Victorian Fun Fair there is enough rides for young and old. They have been built in such a way that they add to the whole feel of the era. There is no additional charge for any of the rides

 

 

Visit the massive Winder House as well as fascinating geological exhibitions followed by a tour of turn of the century Victorian houses, which are replicas of the living standards of the time. The various rooms are furnished with the style of the period, which also includes the style of the clothing, which adds to the interest of visitors
